Privacy
Straight-talking privacy.
DailySurf is a small beta app. We only collect what we need to make the product work, we do not sell your data, and we try to write this page in plain English. Last updated 2026-04-23.
Who we are
DailySurf is operated by ACID Studio. You can reach us anytime at support@dailysurf.fr.
What we collect
Depending on how you use the app and this website, we may process:
- Account info
- Email address and authentication identifiers.
- Profile info
- Display name, surf level, and preferences you choose to share.
- Surf session logs
- Session time, duration, spot, feeling, and reflection notes you enter.
- Spot activity
- Which spots you view, favorite, or log sessions at. Used to show trust cues and the live Spot Pulse.
- Photos & sharing (optional)
- Only if you attach a photo or share to the community. Never read from your camera roll without your action.
- Location data
- Only when you explicitly grant permission, and only to surface nearby spots and conditions. We do not track location in the background.
- Device & diagnostic data
- Device model, OS version, and crash/performance reports needed to keep the app working. Anonymous where possible.
- Invite form data
- If you use the invite form on this website, we store the email, surf level, country, and acquisition source you submitted.
Why we collect it
- To run the account you sign in with.
- To store your surf sessions and show your progression over time.
- To show relevant spots, trust cues, and the live Spot Pulse.
- To keep the app working and diagnose crashes or performance issues.
- To reach out to waitlist applicants when an invite slot opens up.
Third-party services
We rely on a small set of providers to run DailySurf. Each one handles a specific slice of the stack.
- Supabase
- Backend database and authentication. Based in the EU.
- Vercel
- Hosting for this website.
- Sentry
- Crash and performance reporting for the mobile app. Free-tier plan.
- Stormglass
- Marine forecast data provider for surf conditions.
Your choices
- You can ask us to export or delete your account data at any time by emailing support@dailysurf.fr.
- Location and photo permissions are always opt-in at the iOS system level. You can revoke them from iOS Settings anytime.
- If you submitted an invite request and want to be removed from the waitlist, just reply to our outreach email or write to us.
Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as the account is active. Waitlist records are kept until the beta closes or you ask to be removed. Crash reports auto-expire within 90 days.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when meaningful things change — new data categories, new services, new regions. The date at the top of the page shows the latest revision.
